News from the NPSF Patient Safety Congress


Thank you to everyone who was able to join us in Austin for the 17th Annual NPSF Patient Safety Congress. We have heard from many of you already, and we appreciate all of your great feedback.

The 18th Annual NPSF Congress will take place May 23-25, 2016, in Scottsdale, AZ.

Awards at Congress

  •’s John Q. Sherman Award, conferred by Standard Register Healthcare and the NPSF Lucian Leape Institute, honored North Shore/LIJ Health System for excellence in patient engagement.
  • The Stand Up for Patient Safety Management Awards recognized two member organizations, U of Mississippi Medical Center and North Shore/LIJ Health System (pictured above), for successful safety initiatives.
  • The NPSF DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses honored one individual, Michael Blomquist, RN, CCRN, of University of Kansas Medical Center, and one team, the Serious Communicable Diseases Unit of Emory University Hospital.
