ASPPS Members in the News - July 2015

July 15, 2015 --  Jason Adelman, MD, MS, a lifetime member of ASPPS, is lead author of a study in the current issue of Pediatrics. The paper recommends mitigating wrong-patient errors in neonatal intensive care by using a more specific naming convention than is usually used. Rollin J. “Terry” Fairbanks, MD, MS, FACEP, CPPS, a member of the NPSF Board of Governors and a member of ASPPS, co-authored a perspective piece on AHRQ’s Web M&M titled New Insights on Safety and Health IT.

Barbara Balik, RN, EdD, a member of the NPSF Board of Governors and a member of ASPPS, is a co-author of an open-access article from Diagnosis. The article discusses results from a participant discussion at the 7th International Conference on Diagnostic Error in Medicine facilitated by a World Café technique.

Colleen Lee, MS, RN, an ASPPS member from Montefiore Medical Center, recently did a podcast with the Physician-Patient Alliance for Health and Safety (PPAHS) on preventing blood clots in pregnancy. Listen to the YouTube version here.
