In a unique and collegial setting designed to encourage sharing of perspectives, the LLI Forum & Keynote Dinner provides a remarkable opportunity for you to meet and connect with national patient safety thought leaders and peers from across health care and to signal your support for the Institute’s mission.

Afternoon Forum:

The afternoon educational forum will include a presentation by a featured speaker, plus interactive discussions led by members of the Lucian Leape Institute.


Afternoon Featured Speaker:

Charles Vincent, M Phil, PhD

Professor Vincent is Emeritus Professor, Clinical Safety Research at Imperial College, London, and former director of the National Institute of Health Research Centre for Patient Safety & Service Quality at Imperial College Healthcare Trust.

Trained as a clinical psychologist, since 1985 Dr. Vincent has carried out research on the causes of harm to patients, consequences for patients and staff, and methods of improving the safety of health care. With the UK Commission for Health Improvement, he has advised on patient safety in many inquiries and committees including the recent Berwick Review.



Reception & Keynote Dinner:

The evening event consists of a networking reception and dinner, with a keynote address.


Keynote Speaker:

Pamela F. Cipriano, PhD, RN, NEA-BC, FAAN

Dr. Cipriano is the 35th president of the American Nurses Association (ANA), the nation’s largest nurses organization representing the interests of the nation's 3.4 million registered nurses. A distinguished nursing leader, she has held executive positions in health care systems, academia, and national professional organizations.

In 2015, she was named one of the “Top 100 People in Healthcare” and one of the “Top 25 Women in Healthcare,” by Modern Healthcare magazine.
