The Institute for Healthcare Improvement / National Patient Safety Foundation (IHI/NPSF) called upon the IHI/NPSF Patient Safety Coalition, a diverse group of stakeholders from across the continuum of care, to develop the toolkit, Optimizing a Business Case for Safe Health Care: An Integrated Approach to Safety and Finance, for helping patient safety leaders optimize a business case for safe care. This toolkit specifically emphasizes the need for collaboration among safety and financial leaders to demonstrate the value and return on investment for safer, quality care.

The project co-chairs, Doug Beighle and Dr. Jane Englebright, will provide an overview of the toolkit components, including a close look at the recommendations and resources for preparing and presenting successful business cases.
