Implementing RCA2 Accreditation and Disclosures

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of the program, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the key elements of the RCA2 process
  • Explain the concept of risk-based prioritization and the application of tools to support the implementation of RCA2
  • Identify best practices to support effective functioning of the RCA2 process within an organization
  • Specify potential challenges to implementation and describe strategies to overcome barriers 

Satisfactory Completion Statement

Participants must pass the post-test with a score of 75% or higher and complete an evaluation form to receive a certificate of completion.  Your chosen sessions must be attended in their entirety.  Partial credit of individual sessions is not available. NOTE: If you are seeking continuing education credit for a specialty not listed below, it is your responsibility to contact your licensing/certification board to determine course eligibility for your licensing/certification requirement.

Implementing RCA2: Lessons from the Trenches has been accredited to offer the following Continuing Medical Education and Continuing Education contact hours.

  

ACCME – Physicians

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of Amedco and the National Patient Safety Foundation (NPSF). Amedco is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

 

Amedco designates each enduring activity listed above for a maximum of 1 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditTM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. 

 

ANCC – Nurse

Amedco is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation. 

This course is co-provided by Amedco and the National Patient Safety Foundation (NPSF). Maximum of 1 contact hour per webinar listed above.

 

CPHQ/NAHQ – National Association for Healthcare Quality

This program has been approved by the National Association for Healthcare Quality for 1 CPHQ continuing education hours. 

 

CPHRM/ASHRM – American Society for Healthcare Risk Management

This meeting has been approved for a total of 1.0 contact hours of Continuing Education Credit toward fulfillment of the requirements of ASHRM designations of FASHRM (Fellow) and DRASHRM (Distinguished Fellow) and towards CPHRM renewal.   

 

ACPE – Pharmacists

Amedco is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education.  Successful completion of this program qualifies for up to 1 contact hour per webinar.  Full attendance is required.  No partial contact hours will be awarded for partial attendance.

ACHE - Health Care Executives

National Patient Safety Foundation is authorized to award 1 hour of pre-approved ACHE Qualified Education credit for this program toward advancement, or recertification, in the American College of Healthcare Executives. Participants in this program who wish to have the continuing education hours applied toward AHCE Qualified Education credit must self-report their participation. To self-report, participants must log into their MyACHE account and select ACHE Qualified Education Credit. 

 

Other Health Care Professionals
This program has been awarded 1.00 educational hours for other professions to self-report. A Certificate of Attendance will be provided by contacting info@npsf.org. Please keep a copy of the agenda for your records.


Certification Board for Professionals in Patient Safety

This program has been approved for 1 hour toward Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) recertification. Click here to find out more information about this credential.
