Help Influence the Content of the CPPS Examination

Greetings:

The Certification Board for Professionals in Patient Safety is conducting a job analysis of professionals in patient safety. A job analysis helps to define performance domains and tasks performed by a professional and the necessary knowledge and skills associated with these tasks. The information gathered from the analysis will be used to develop a relevant and valid certification examination supported by evidence-based data.

In 2012 CBPPS developed a groundbreaking certification program designed to standardize patient safety competencies, provide a mechanism to ensure proficiencies essential for practicing professionals in the field, and elevate the profession by recognizing expertise in the discipline of patient safety. Since then, more than 600 patient safety practitioners have successfully completed the requirements of the program and are entitled to use the Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) credential.

You have a unique opportunity to influence the content of future certification examination forms. Please share your expertise by taking the job analysis survey:

Click here to take the survey or copy/paste the link below.

The survey asks you to judge the importance of a series of job-related tasks describing what practicing professionals in patient safety do. By taking this survey, you will voice your opinions about these tasks and, ultimately, about the content of future examinations.

We realize that completing the survey will take time from your busy schedule, and we thank you. Completion of the electronic survey will take about 30 minutes.

Those who complete the survey will be entered into a drawing to receive one of three $25 American Express gift cards in thanks for your time. Please note you must include your contact information in order to be eligible.

Your responses to the survey will be anonymous; no personally identifiable information will be included in the survey results. Please forward this survey invitation to any colleagues who did not receive an invitation.

Please complete this on-line survey by December 12, 2014.

Thank you for taking time to respond to this very important survey!
