At the Thursday afternoon Town Hall Plenary, Members of the Institute will discuss their guiding paper for the Institute's work, "Transforming Concepts for Patient Safety." Congress attendees will hear Members share their ideas about the transformational changes that are needed in the field of patient safety and the development of a strategic vision for the field. Included will be input from the open discussions that were held in conjunction with the Institute's first Roundtable and Inaugural Gala.
On Friday morning, discussion will continue at Member-led Breakfast Roundtables, where Congress attendees will have the unique opportunity of providing their own input to the Institute's developing strategic vision. Roundtable topics include Health Professions Education, Consumer Involvement, Integrating Organizations, Transparency, and Joy and Meaning in Work.
The calls to action for improving patient safety that the Institute will issue will be informed by the discussions that take place at the Congress.
