Publication of Note: Using Automated Surveillance to Improve Diagnosis

Tom Scaletta, MD, CPPS, recently published an article in PSQH magazine (May/June 2016) on the benefits of using automated surveillance to improve diagnosis in emergency departments. Referencing the National Academy of Medicine report on diagnostic error published last fall, he writes, “Improving post-discharge conversations with ED patients through technology can help ED providers extend the information-gathering process, as well as address about half of the IOM report’s goals."
