8th Annual NPSF Patient Safety Congress To Be Held May 10-12, 2006 in San Francisco
Press Passes Available for Media Representatives
On May 10-12 at the San Francisco Marriott, the National Patient Safety Foundation (NPSF) will hold its 8th Annual NPSF Patient Safety Congress, Leadership for Safety: The Time is Now! Beginning with an intensive Leadership Day on Patient Safety on May 10, Leadership for Safety: The Time is Now! brings together over 130 experts in more than 60 sessions to discuss initiatives designed to reduce medical errors and to improve patient safety. National and international health experts, as well as patient, family, and consumer representatives, will be sharing their expertise and experiences in making critical improvements that save lives and reduce harm to patients.
This year, NPSF and the World Health Organization (WHO) World Alliance for Patient Safety are coordinating and integrating their educational efforts. The World Alliance for Patient Safety is hosting a Patients for Patient Safety Workshop for North and South American consumers, patients and families, and citizens on May 8 through 10, in concert with the NPSF Patient Safety Congress. Patients for Patient Safety is one of six action areas of the World Alliance for Patient Safety and is designed to ensure that the perspective of patients, families, and consumers in both developed and developing countries is a central reference point in shaping the important work of the Alliance.
Following the NPSF Leadership Day program on May 10, NPSF Leadership Day attendees and the patient and consumer advocates from the Patient for Patient Safety Workshop will meet to share their vision and perspectives for strengthening partnerships and significantly improving patient safety.
Each year, NPSF offers complimentary press passes to working journalists affiliated with an internationally, nationally or regionally recognized media outlet which intends to cover the event. Free-lance writers, contributing editors and industry analysts may also request press credentials by stating which media outlet they will be representing while covering the event.
