Boston, MA, Nov. 7, 2013—The National Patient Safety Foundation (NPSF) is pleased to announce new members of the NPSF Corporate Council: Metrasens, BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company), Covidien, and the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) have joined the Council in 2013.
The NPSF Corporate Council comprises organizations from across health care that share a deep commitment to patient safety. The Council provides a forum by which these organizations collaborate with NPSF to accelerate the understanding and advancement of the patient safety mission and work.
“These organizations represent diverse perspectives on patient safety issues,” said Tejal K. Gandhi, MD, MPH, CPPS, president of the National Patient Safety Foundation. “We are incredibly pleased to welcome them to the NPSF family and we look forward to working alongside them with the shared goal of making health care safer for all.”
The NPSF Corporate Council was created in 2001 in recognition of the importance of collaboration in pursuit of safe care. Membership represents a valuable opportunity for organizations across the spectrum of health care to share ideas, expertise, and insights, benefiting each organization individually and advancing the Council’s goals.
The four newest members join existing members Hospira, McKesson, Pascal Metrics, Laerdal Medical, Sage Products, SonoSite, the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN), and the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN).
