The National Patient Safety Foundation is proud to endorse Canadian Patient Safety Week, October 27-31, 2014. This year’s campaign is focused on hand hygiene and infection prevention and control. Hand hygiene remains the primary means to reduce health care-associated infections. HAIs affect more than 220,000 Canadians each year.
Along with the Canadian Patient Safety Institute (CPSI), we’re spreading the message of ASK. LISTEN. TALK. CPSI invites all to join in creating a safer health care system by bringing awareness to the importance of patient safety.
CPSI performs a coordinating and leadershp role across health sectors and systems, promotes leading practices, and raises awareness about patient safety by collaborating with partners, patients, and their families. For 10 years, CPSI has lived its mission of inspiring extraordinary improvement in patient safety. NPSF joins with CPSI to celebrate the providers, patients, and families who have made health care safer in Canada.
To celebrate its 10th anniversary, CPSI is launching an engagement campaign called #CelebratingSafeCare, and all may take part by sharing their safe care story. Whether it’s a video, a tweet, a photograph, or anything else you can think of, create it and share it with Canada.
Here’s how you can share your Celebrating Safe Care story:
Record your story via webcam using Boast, a tool to capture a one minute Speaker’s Corner-style video of yourself.
Share on your mobile device using the free Boast app for iOS or Andoid. Use the campaign code “safecare.”
Tweet using #celebratingsafecare
Share on CPSI’s Facebook or Instagram pages using #celebratingsafecare

Send CPSI a link to your YouTube video

Canada’s Forum on Patient Safety & Quality Improvement is being held in Edmonton, Alberta, October 29-30, 2014. If you’re unable to make the trip, you can still register to watch virtually.
