Alliance for Health Reform Sponsors Briefing in DC
The Alliance for Health Reform, a nonprofit, non-partisan organization headquartered in Washington, DC, is sponsoring a Congressional briefing, “Disclosure and Apology: A Win-Win for Patient Safety and Medical Liability?” The briefing is to take place from Noon to 1:30 pm on Monday, July 28, in Room 325, Senate Russell Office Building, 2 Constitution Ave NE, Washington, DC.
According to information on the Alliance’s website, “anecdotal data suggest that communication-and-resolution programs can result in improved patient safety and decreased malpractice claims. However, questions remain about how well this approach really works, and whether it can be standardized and scaled up in our medical system.”
An expert panel will explore the topic and answer key questions about disclosure and apology practices. The event is open to staff of governmental agencies, press, and various stakeholders.
