MEMBER RESOURCE GUIDE

This comprehensive guide, sent upon enrollment in the Stand Up program, contains articles, power point presentations, brochures, fact sheets, videos with learning guides and more. Organized around stakeholder groups for ease of use, materials are presented both in a master collection and in coordinated folders targeted to administration, board of trustees, clinical and support staff, patients and families, and marketing and public relations.

AUDIO-WEB CONFERENCES

Access to 10 conferences per year on relevant, practical topics presented by leaders in patient safety. Audio conference topics are selected to be of greatest interest and use to Stand Up members, and members are encouraged to provide feedback and suggest future topics. Stand Up members may also have the opportunity to be featured as a conference presenter on innovative techniques or solutions implemented at their facility.

ACCESS TO THE STAND UP FOR PATIENT SAFETY MEMBER'S WEBSITE

The password-protected members website supplements the Member Resource Guide by providing a wealth of patient safety resources, including articles, fact sheets and brochures, downloadable recordings and PowerPoint presentations of past audio conferences, and links to other materials, as well as general information, updates and schedules of events for Stand Up members.

NATIONAL PATIENT SAFETY AWARENESS WEEK TOOLKIT

The celebration of Patient Safety Awareness Week occurs annually in March. The program focuses on positive imaging to encourage patients to partner with their providers and strengthen the patient-provider bond. Stand Up members are provided with a toolkit complete with resources and information to help celebrate the week in their organization. Toolkits include suggestions for hosting a community event, sample press releases for use within the organization and the community, eye-catching posters and brochures, and distinctive badges and bracelets that can be distributed to staff and community members to spread the message of patient safety.

CURRENT AWARENESS LITERATURE ALERT SUBSCRIPTION

Conveniently delivered by e-mail twice a month, this electronic publication provides a digest of current literature highlighting articles of interest to the patient safety community.

FOCUS ON PATIENT SAFETY SUBSCRIPTION

This quarterly publication covers up to date information surrounding NPSF and general patient safety initiatives throughout the country. Focus on Patient Safety is currently available by e-mail through various NPSF programs, and is also provided to the public.

JOURNAL OF PATIENT SAFETY SUBSCRIPTION

Launched in conjunction with NPSF by Lippincott Williams & Wilkins, a leading international publisher of professional health information, the Journal of Patient Safety (ISSN 1549-8417) is the official journal of NPSF. This peer-reviewed, quarterly publication presents research advances and field applications in the areas of patient safety.

ANNUAL PATIENT SAFETY CONGRESS

The NPSF Annual Patient Safety Congress is the preeminent meeting bringing together all stakeholders in patient safety. Featuring a distinguished international faculty, the conference includes 4 plenary sessions and over 50 breakout sessions presenting cutting edge research and solutions and compelling stories of personal experience. Breakfast roundtables, a poster session and exhibitions showcasing the latest in patient safety innovation reinforce the themes of the conference and provide additional opportunities for networking and sharing information. Health care practitioners, executives, board members, solutions providers, researchers, patients and families and others come together in this national and international forum.

REGIONAL SEMINARS

In partnership with AIG Healthcare, the Stand Up program conducts a series of regional meetings focused on leadership. The meetings provide a focused opportunity for learning and discussion between the executive and mid-level management groups. PARTICIPATION IN SETTING THE NATIONAL PATIENT SAFETY AGENDA

Corporate Council

Leading healthcare products and services companies take part in NPSFs Corporate Council to enhance their understanding of the issues of patient safety and the challenges faced by their customers. The Corporate Council enables the exchange of ideas among stakeholders, including Stand Up Members.
