2009 National Patient Safety Foundation Community Challenge: Poster Presentation Instructions

As part of the 2009 Congress, NPSF will host a full-day pre-Congress program focused on community engagement. NPSF encourages you and your community to submit abstracts for posters to be displayed during this program. The 2009 poster presentations are intended to highlight the efforts put forth by Stand Up for Patient Safety™ member hospitals and their communities demonstrating effective partnering and inclusion of patients on healthcare teams. Abstracts must report on efforts previously or currently implemented, not descriptions of planned projects.

General Information

  • All abstracts must be submitted to conferences@npsf.org.
  • Accepted posters will be displayed on bulletin boards in a designated area during the community engagement program.
  • Accepted poster titles, submitters and organizations will be included in the Congress materials.
  • Presenters of posters assume all arrangements and costs related to registration, travel, and poster development.
  • Deadline for submission of abstracts is Friday March 20, 2009, at 5 pm EST; notification of acceptance will be provided by Monday, March 30, 2009.

Review Process

  • All abstracts will undergo evaluation by a review committee.
  • Review criteria include significance of the work in the community, clarity of presentation, and writing quality.

Session Format

The format described below is a guideline for presenting the work. Applicants are encouraged to explore creative and innovative formats.
