Mission Health Patient Safety Institute offers this program focusing on topics including: Engaging Empathy to Combat Bias, Understanding Psych Diagnosis and Interventions, and Visual Intelligence with breakout sessions including: Trauma Informed Care, Ethics 101, Principled Innovation, and Peer Support training. Note: Day 1, October 11, is for Mission Health employees only; Day 2 , October 12 – 13, the two day national conference is open to all.

Objectives:

  1. Identify strategies for combating bias in caring for patients with drug abuse history or a behavioral health diagnosis.
  2. Plan actions for addressing barriers to resolving ethical dilemmas in the workplace .
  3. Provide effective care for patients with drug dependence.
  4. Create enhanced awareness of patient safety concerns and initiatives in your work team.
  5. Practice clear observation of and communication with patients.
