Learning Objectives

At the end of the session, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify evidence-based fall risk assessment tools used in inpatient and outpatient settings.
  2. Describe how pairing fall risk assessment with mobility tests and injury risk assessment may further contribute to decreased falls and falls with injury.
  3. Plan a standardized approach to implementing evidence-based prevention strategies for patients identified at risk to fall, targeted to identified risk factors.
  4. Outline methods for measuring processes and outcomes related to inpatient and outpatient falls.
