New Patient Safety Program for Physician Practices
BENEFITS OVERVIEW
As an Ambulatory Stand Up for Patient Safety™ member, you’ll have immediate access to an invaluable array of patient safety tools, allowing you to improve patient safety standards, reduce risk, and quickly engage clinicians and staff in this important initiative.
Member Resource Guide
Rich in patient safety information and practical tools, the Member Resource Guide includes customized sections addressing the unique issues of outpatient administration, trustees, staff, patients, and the community. The guide provides a road map for all the offerings within the Ambulatory Stand Up for Patient Safety program, enabling your facility to organize and structure a culture of safety using the experience and knowledge of patient safety experts. New tools and resources are made available throughout the year. To ensure that your organization has the most recent patient safety best practice models and research, resources are continually added to the members’ password-protected website.
Subject content includes: developing a strategic plan for medication safety, safety technology, including the patient and family as part of the treatment team, and disclosure. In addition, the Guide contains patient education videos, brochures, customizable Consumer Fact Sheets that can be placed in patient waiting and reception areas, topical articles and publications, turnkey presentations, and promotional materials.
Accessible Continuing Education
A program of audio-web conferences is offered annually. Sessions are led by national experts on diverse patient safety topics, such as adverse event disclosure; identifying, assessing, and treating your key risks through risk assessment; medication safety; safe staffing; and building safeguards into your clinical care systems.
Idea Exchanges and Publications
Ambulatory Stand Up members and other patient safety stakeholders share innovations, create a national patient safety agenda, and implement and model best practices using NPSF-sponsored tools that include:
• A moderated web-based discussion forum
• An online patient safety library
• The semi-monthly Current Awareness Literature Alert
• The Focus on Patient Safety Newsletter
National Patient Safety Awareness Week (PSAW)
